Paris in August

We are privileged to be able to visit the Elysee Palace, thanks to our Parisian host. This will definitely be a treat.Slideshow

Tomorrow I leave for a 10 day holiday in Paris. The highlight of this long awaited vacation will be a 4 day walking walking tour (with friends and guides) studying classical architectural treasures, some not readily accessible to the public. Of course, I look forward to sharing some of my photos when I return after Labor Day. Happy end of summer!

Holiday Hostess Gifts

Last week I talked about getting motivated to rejuvenate the bath. With that behind me, it is time to go shopping for special holiday hostess gifts. I find myself completely distracted in large stores; countless gifts are piled on tables (often falling over) making it difficult to find that special and unique item . So, of course, I have taken myself to Waterworks where I always find just the right gifts on the highly edited and curated shelves. A few of my favorites this season include leather accessories, great resin serving pieces, elegant hand made pottery and wonderful cutting boards among many other divine choices for both the kitchen and bath.

The Big Book of Chic

In 2012 Miles Redd created THE BIG BOOK OF CHIC, published by Assouline. His sophisticated and unique style is both playful and glamorous; it mixes high and low, a strong sense of color  and modern gestures. The entire text, quotes from famous artists, actors and authors, is printed in red and black large scale font. Graphically, it is an engaging format and the full page photographs in both color and black and white give the reader an insight into Miles’ very personal blend of work and fantasy.

We launched Waterworks Studio in Fall 2011. The brand is an evolution of our product assortment and our continued commitment to design authenticity, quality and innovation. The design brief for Waterworks Studio was to embrace an elegant and straightforward sensibility in fittings, textiles, accessories and surfaces with deliberately edited and curated styles, colors and finishes. We wanted to make it easy to assemble a bath confidently by removing guesswork and stressful decision making from the process. The result is a stylish collection that works efficiently and beautifully–outfitting  multiple bathrooms from modern to traditional.
