I am frequently asked to describe my personal bath. I always say that my house and bath look much like me; classic, tailored and neutral. So it was most auspicious when Newell Turner asked if House Beautiful could feature my bath in the “Bath of the Month” column.    I was delighted to oblige.

On January 26th I shared some of my photos of materials that we gathered in preparation for the publication of our HERITAGE BOOK. As I said at that time, we wanted our clients to understand our commitment to the authenticity of our designs and the innovation and quality of our products.

By now you know that I love Hudson, NY–the antiques and vintage Mecca of the Northeast. On June 10th I took a day off to go exploring and was gifted with a gorgeous, sunny, warm day perfect to be outside walking the streets. Usually I go with some specific goal, however, on this particular day, I decided to photograph whatever object was appealing without considering where it might go, what its price, or what bathroom would benefit from its purchase.

Last spring Robert and I went to Berlin on our way to Copenhagen. It was a convenient stop over and a wonderful place to explore museums. Several museums are conveniently located together on an island in the Spree River, within walking distance of other architecturally interesting buildings and our hotel in West Berlin. I had forgotten to write about my experience until I read Thomas Jayne’s blog Ancient and Modern Decoration where he wrote about his recent trip to the Neues Museum and his infatuation with Nefertiti.
