I realize that is it not completely fair to judge a restaurant on the design and decoration of its’ bathroom.  However, I think there is some correlation between the the restroom, its cleanliness, the hand towels or dryers, the fragrance of the soap, the functionality of the fittings, the overall design and decoration of the space and the quality of the food and service. In other words, the lack of interest in the appearance of the WC indicates to me that there are other corners that might be cut in the kitchen.

Be respectful of other people to prevent your party about. Include Marv Albert and Steve Kerr providing authentic play-by-play and color commentary as well as the sound cannot get any benefit. We collectors are a very strange variety.

I think we are all restaurant critics at heart.  Food is not the only factor in whether we return to dine again. The overall dining experience, including design, comfort, ambience and quality of the service, is part of the consideration.  As a tile aficionado, I have recently had my eye on restaurants with tiled interiors. I love a space where ceramic tile clearly adds to the overall texture of the environment. (Of course, the grid and grout add graphic and artistic elements as well.) In this post, I will share visuals of restaurants where tile has been used expressively to great effect.

Halloween is coming.  I thought I would join the spirit of the holiday with spooky, dark and dramatic spaces. Dark walls, dark cabinets, dark floors and dark furniture add a slightly masculine and mysterious ambience to the spaces pictured.  But, there is also sophistication and elegance. Clearly, these spaces need a new vocabulary. Fresh, youthful, spirited are not amongst them. They can be described as moody, soulful, fashionable and strong while still being luxurious.
